Subject: Boca Del Mar / Powerline Road Meeting
I appreciate you and the other D.O.T. District 4 personnel taking the time to meet with me last week regarding the Powerline Road median and for your guidance through the process to request and obtain State Grant funding for this road improvement project.
As we discussed, the intersection of Powerline Road and Palmetto Park Road are the two largest and center roads in the Boca Del Mar community, and we feel landscaping in this area would greatly enhance our neighborhood. I agree that the narrower medians should remain with the current paver bricks, and we should focus on the two larger islands on Powerline Road; one North of Palmetto Park Road and one South of Palmetto Park Road.
If you would be so kind as to lay out the procedures I must follow and the application process, recommended, the D.O.T. approved landscape engineers, and the type of trees the State encourages, I will begin to coordinate our efforts so that we may apply for the $100,000.00 grant by the July 2014 deadline.
I understand this will require the approval of and coordination with Palm Beach County and that the Boca Del Mar Improvement Association will need to commit to the ongoing maintenance of the medians to be landscaped. The B.D.M.I.A. for its part, currently maintains many medians, buffers, small parks and common ares within Boca Del Mar.
I appreciate your assistance and look forward to this challenge which if successful will improve our community greatly.
